Infohrm announces the Infohrm-AHRI partnership for 2009
Infohrm is proud to have been selected by AHRI to run their HR Essentials Short Courses in Workforce Planning, Workforce Metrics (Metrics Essentials), and Workforce Analytics. These workshops are set to continue in the Infohrm tradition with highly experienced Infohrm Consultants facilitating all workshops and future-focused curriculum based on Infohrm’s extensive experience of over 25 years in workforce planning, reporting, and analytics.
The 2009 Infohrm Academy program is bigger and better than ever: more workshops; better accessibility; and greater value! The 2009 Academy Workshops have been revitalised with the delivery of a new and broad range of courses designed to give HR teams the ability to interpret and apply HR information for organisational impact.
Established in 1982, the Infohrm Academy gives HR teams the expertise and techniques to plan their future workforce. The Infohrm Academy delivers a broad range of courses designed to give HR teams the ability to interpret and apply HR information. The Academy’s future focused workshops cover a range of HR practices from metrics, analytics, and reporting through to workforce planning strategies, and data-driven decision-making. All workshops are designed to give HR teams the capability to become a true business partner.

Infohrm gives you the choice of two workshop modes:
In-house
In-house workshops are designed for flexibility. Choosing the time, venue, and facilitator, in-house workshops allow you to tailor your own program from the global catalogue of Infohrm workshops. These workshops are designed for groups of at least ten participants and guarantee enhanced learning outcomes by incorporating the attending organisations’ data into training.
Public
Public workshops are presented in an interactive professional environment using thought provoking presentations. All presentations are designed to guide you and your staff through each step of a particular HR process, combining instructions on methodologies, tools, and techniques. Participants are armed with actionable ideas and a detailed reference manual to assist with immediate implementation.
Infohrm Academy Workshops are structured as a series, progressing from beginner to specialist:
Foundation Series
The workshops included in the Foundation Series are designed to give HR practitioners a thorough understanding of the building blocks of good HR measurement, reporting, and planning practices.
Professional Series
The workshops included in the Profession Series are designed to grow HR practitioners knowledge, techniques, and skills in relation to workforce planning reporting and analytics. The Professional Series is also designed with the executive in mind, giving a comprehensive overview of the strategic use of workforce information in business.
Artisan Series
The exclusive courses are designed to develop experienced practitioners into analytical or workforce planning specialists. With an action learning based approach, the Artisan Series aims to have attendees applying newly acquired knowledge to comprehensive case studies and organisation information. The course consists of seven contact days and monthly action learning sessions conducted over a period of 6 months. The INTENSIVE courses provide the opportunity for participants to become accredited in workforce planning or workforce analytics.
Member Series
The Member Series is designed to provide practical hand on learning allowing Member organisations to work with their own data using i3 (icubed). The workshop is conducted onsite within member organisations and requires a training room equipped with PCs/Laptops connected to the Internet. If unavailable, hiring other facilities would incur additional cost.

Foundation Series
- Metrics Essentials:* (Public)
For those new to workforce analytics or just beginning the metrics journey, this class will provide the fundamentals for working with HR data by helping participants to understand the construction of workforce measures as well as practices such as annualising metrics, benchmarking, and root-cause analysis. - Workforce Analytics:* (Public)
In this workshop, a variety of analytic frameworks and techniques will be presented along with case studies addressing common workforce issues such as turnover analysis, understanding the aging of a workforce, and assessing the career-pathing trends. - Workforce Planning:* (Public)
This workshop provides in-depth training on each step of the workforce planning process, from designing a planning strategy to calculating supply and demand forecasts and designing HR interventions. - Workforce Reporting: (Public)
This workshop will assist HR professionals in developing a workforce reporting capability and strategy in alignment with business needs. An emphasis is placed on successful methods for gaining audience acceptance and utilisation of workforce reports, from defining audience needs to designing and delivering data-driven insights.

Interpreting HR Information: (In-house)
This workshop leads participants through the building blocks of using data for decision-making, including identifying common data sources used in workforce analytics, understanding the business logic underpinning workforce data, correctly interpreting raw data inputs, and validating metrics and formulas. -
Advanced Workforce Planning: (In-house)
For those who want to elevate their organisation’s workforce planning capability, this class will move beyond the basics to incorporate robust financial analysis and achieve a systematic, organisation-wide embedding of the process. -
Advanced Workforce Analytics: (In-house)
Workshop participants will learn different analysis techniques to break down large, complex data sets to identify the stories and insights locked in the data. -
Actioning Analytics: (In-house)
The workshop is designed to identify, scope, and plan for potential analytic engagements that participating organisations could undertake in the next 6-12 months. -
Making Workforce Planning Work: (Public)
Driving workforce planning across on organisation is challenging and can be fraught with obstacles. Although many try, embedding workforce planning into organisational strategy is a rocky road, and can easily fail. This workshop is all about how to implement workforce planning and gives the tools and techniques to overcome common planning issues and challenges. Making Workforce Planning Work is designed for either HR executives with the responsibility and oversight of workforce planning processes or for experiences workforce planners looking for advice on how to make workforce planning more effective. -

Interpreting HR Information:
This workshop leads participants through the building blocks of using data for decision-making, including identifying common data sources used in workforce analytics, understanding the business logic underpinning workforce data, correctly interpreting raw data inputs, and validating metrics and formulas.
Measuring the ROI of Human Capital:
This workshop teaches participants to identify the drivers to HR evaluation, build a business case for an HR intervention, demonstrate the financial implications of human capital strategies, and develop standard costing models.
Actioning Analytics:
The workshop is designed to identify, scope, and plan for potential analytic engagements that participating organizations could undertake in the next 6-12 months.

Academy Workshop Presenters
Rana HobbsLead Consultant, Member Services
As a Member Service Consultant, Rana is responsible for all aspects of member management related to Infohrm products and services. She is involved in HR analytic investigations and in designing reporting strategies for the membership. Additionally, she acts as an advisor to the Infohrm product development group. Outside of her member service role, Rana is a contributing facilitator to the Infohrm workshops and training courses.
Rana came to Infohrm through their partnership with the Corporate Leadership Council, CLC Metrics. While with CLC Metrics, Rana provided analytic, training, and project management support to the membership. Prior to her work in human resources, Rana worked at IDC as an analyst and contributing telecommunication market researcher. Rana holds a Bachelor of Arts from Wellesley College.
Paige MengeManager, Consulting Services
Paige Menge has worked with a number of companies on Workforce Planning and Analysis assignments, including Aetna, Cadbury-Schweppes, United Airlines, and American Family Mutual Insurance. Paige joined Infohrm after receiving her MBA from Vanderbilt University, although she was familiar with the company from her prior experience as an analyst at Infohrm's former partner, CLC Metrics. Paige has worked for the Boston Consulting Group as well as a number of other companies consulting on topics such as human resources, business strategy, sales and marketing and market intelligence.
Bill GilmyersSenior Consultant
Bill has worked on a variety of workforce analytics and planning projects for Infohrm’s members, with an emphasis on custom analyses including calculating the ROI of training, developing predictive models for aging workforces and modeling the cost of turnover. Prior to joining Infohrm Bill held an HR leadership and internal consulting role at The Irvine Company with a focus on human capital measurement and compensation. From 2002-2005 he served as Vice President of Human Capital Analytics at IndyMac Bancorp, leading IndyMac’s HR Center of Excellence. Bill’s work has emphasized workforce segmentation and measurement, employee profiling and predictive modeling of sales force productivity. He has also led multiple studies in the area of employee turnover and retention, and has had his work featured in SHRM’s HR Magazine. Bill received his MBA from the University of Southern California and holds a BA in psychology from Pomona College in Claremont, California.
Andrew JacobusSenior Consultant
Andrew is a Sr. Consultant on Infohrm’s field consulting team, delivering strategic guidance, in-depth analytics, and thought leadership to companies in all stages of their Workforce Planning and Analytics evolution. Prior to joining Infohrm Andrew designed, launched, and managed global HR and Workforce Analytics groups at a Fortune 100 Financial Services firm; and held various HR Strategy, Planning and project roles in a Fortune 15 Telecommunications company. His more recent work has emphasized workforce movement and demographic analytics, Scorecard development, and predictive modeling of employee performance and attrition. A certified Human Capital Strategist and PHR, Andrew received his MBA from the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University and holds a BSA from Dallas Baptist University.
Nick GarbisSenior Consultant
Nicholas is a Sr. Consultant on the Member Services team, providing strategic and analytics support for organizations at all stages of the workforce analytics and planning journey. Nicholas brings extensive experience in business intelligence, HR technology, scorecard and report design, and advanced analytics. Prior to joining Infohrm, Nicholas workfed for a major retail organization where he launched a global Workforce Analytics and Planning function, delivering metrics technology, scorecards, statistical analyses, staffing forecasts, and ROI estimates.
Nicholas leads Infohrm’s Retail Industry Consortium which provides benchmarks, best practices, and dialogue for Workforce Analytics & Planning professionals in the retail sector. He also leads a regional networking group called the Twin Cities Workforce Analytics, Reporting, and Planning Partnership (TC-WARP) that brings together HR leaders, analysts, and consultants for networking and thought leadership.
